Kustavi

Kustavi is a tiny village about one hour drive west from Turku. It is known to be the sunniest place in Finland and usually clear skies and chill sea breeze makes temperatures perfect for hard core crack climbing.

In recent years Kustavi has become an important area for Finnish trad climbing. First climbs were established 2002 and since then it has became one of the best places in Finland for pure jamming.

Around Kustavi there are over ten, more or less, quality crags offering great variety of climbs on every grades. Main character in climbing is cracks. Over 600 routes welcomes you to  enjoy the golden granite of Kustavi.

Because of the cracks most of the climbs are with good protection. Routes are usually relatively short but the longest ones are around 17 meters.  You should bring a ordinary trad gear for the basic routes.  There are also some routes where you might need some special pro such as micro nuts or larger cams.
